Lighter on the nutmeg, this concoction tasted like it was seasoned with a pumpkin pie spice blend that left a different kind of warmth on the palate than most renditions. Of the soups, we tried the moderately thick butternut squash ($4). It's served with flatbread and fresh thick-sliced vegetables, all of which made perfect dipping companions. This savory blend was also light on the cheese, making this starter feel practically guilt-free. The artichoke spinach cheese dip ($3 half order, $6 whole) arrived hot and light on the typical sour cream or mayo filler, flaunting the chunks of artichoke and spinach leaves. What a great end to a great Tuesday.Gilbert's Blue Lemon, at Greenfield and Baseline roads, is the first out-of-state location of the Utah-based, fast-casual franchise that focuses on healthy fare. Easy clean up… and off to the rest of the evening. The flavors were dancing together within our mouths, and I know we ate and drank with big grins the entire time. Thankfully I have more in the cellar and will look to repeat this “Event” or one similar in the near future. I enjoyed the wine so much, I did help to finish off the bottle. The Korean Style Beef and the Seafood Lemon Pepper Pappardelle were both bold enough to compliment and combine well with the Malbec. The pairing was divine and left us complete and happy. The food arrived promptly, the wine was already opened and breathing in poured glasses to be enjoyed with the food. There were 3 of us enjoying the “Event” of this great Take out / Delivery food and Fine Malbec wine. Korean Style Beef, Seafood Lemon Pepper Pappardelle and a Signature Hummas Plate Doordash and Grubhub… though today Doordash prevailed as their services with Blue Lemon were perfect. I then began the hunt… looking through the options between our two favorable food delivery services.
Just be ure the food has bold flavors to stand up to the firm structure of the wine. You’ll enjoy it with roast duck, pasta with meatballs and tomato sauce, and especially with BBQ ribs.
Malbec is extremely versatile when paired with food. I located the Tasting Notes (something that makes this decision and the solution super simple) and was already on the path to find the perfect “Take Out” or in our case, “Delivery” for what was sure to be an “Event”. So looking into our growing collection of Fine Wines from our very own Wine of the Month Club, I looked over a favorite Malbec – one from Argentina. Things have been going “SUPER AMAZING” and it seemed that dinner needed to be ready at the conclusion of the call. You see we do a Tuesday Night Student Instructor call each and every Tuesday Night. And dinner is not always the best planned option as we are working and building our business and the business of so many of our family members. Now with us, we have a solid routine on our Tuesdays. To begin with, tonight was an end to a great and fulfilling Tuesday. And while it came together nicely, it was so easy because we have been enjoying numerous situations like this for some time now. While this Event that included an amazing malbec blue lemon combination, it was put together rather quickly.
